MYOGENIX, INC. ISSUES NATIONWIDE VOLUNTARY RECALL Contact: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Santa Maria, CA – July 6, 2009 – Myogenix, Inc. has issued a voluntary product recall involving products manufactured with ingredients recalled by Plainview Milk Products Cooperative (Plainview). This recall has been initiated due to potential Salmonella contamination of Plainview products. Although, product sampling conducted by state and federal agencies and Plainview of the Plainview products impacted by this recall have produced negative results for Salmonella, Salmonella was found to be present in Plainview’s manufacturing facility. Plainview has reported that there have been no reported illnesses to date related to these products. Samples from all lots of Myogenix products like those subject to this recall are tested for Salmonella before they are sold. None of those samples tested positive for the presence of Salmonella. Myogenix, Inc. has not received any reports of illness related to these products. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, and because consumer safety is Myogenix’s top priority, Myogenix is voluntarily recalling the below listed products. The products subject to the recall are listed below by Lot Number. These Lot Numbers below are the only ones subject to this recall. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
